"A Coast Guard licensed Master, an actor, a singer and a songwriter, Rick can truly bring songs to life. He has appeared at coffeehouses, folk festivals, house concerts and museums across the USA. He has learned some of his most effective performance techniques playing in low waterfront dives and institutions of higher learning from St. Thomas to Toronto, California to New York and everywhere in between. Rick has several albums to his credit. His all original CD called, "Spending My Days" includes the song, "The River That Flows Both Ways", which has been recorded by Pete Seeger while another tune,"Bar Song" was recently recorded by an old friend, Ray Chesna. Rick has released a CD of some of his favorite western music entitled "Cowboy Up", which includes his first yodeling and tenor banjo playing on tunes written by Woody Guthrie and Gene Autry as well as a few songs of his own devising. His CD, "The Irish in Me", is a collection of his favorite 'songs from the old sod'. http://www.ricknestler.com

Rick...has been a guest on my show many times through the years. Rick has a songbag that would have made Alan Lomax green with envy! Rick is the composer of "The River that Flows Both Ways", a song that Pete Seeger recorded and has performed for many years and has become one of the anthems of the Clearwater. Rick walks the walk. He is a bona fide captain with a 100 ton Masters License from the Coast Guard and served as a captain on several vessels. Pete Seeger calls Rick a "whiskey tenor", but whatever you wish to call it you will discover a warm and endearing voice, a wry sense of humor, a great collection of songs, and a style that is sorely needed on the folk scene. I hope his voice will soon be heard on Folk radio across the continent... Ron Olesko WFDU-FM www.ronolesko.blogspot.com
