New Album Ready To Roll
Joe Solo, posted 17 Jan 2010 09:18 AM comments 0
New Album Ready To Roll Hello Again

My new album "Forwards Is Just Backwards In Reverse" is finished and ready to roll. It'll hit the shelves next month and I can't wait to get out there and play these songs live. I've uploaded two to EZFolk, my version of the traditional "It Takes A Worried Man" and the Woody Guthrie-inspired "Asking Around", the former being a free download so fill yer boots.

The book to accompany my last album "Music From Potter's Field" featuring my songs and lyrics, a short story from Andy Wilson to accompany each song, and a plate from ace photographer Graham Rhodes, will be released over the summer so I'll keep you up to date with that.

In the meantime I'll be out there somewhere stompin'-and-a-stampin', hoopin'-and-a-hollerin' at a venue near you.

It'll be good to see ya!

All the best
Joe
LATEST NEWS

LATEST NEWS Hello Again,

What an unbelievable year 2009 has been! And it ain't finished yet. Work on my next album is nearing completion with 10 out of the 12 tracks recorded and awaiting mastering. Completed versions of these will be up on www.myspace.com/joesolo as soon as possible. The CD will be released in February 2010 and I'll keep you in the picture there.

Reviews of "Music From Potter's Field", my latest album, released February this year, have been brilliant, and the number of emails I've been receiving telling me how moved you have been has been very touching and I thank you for your kind words and comments. The Potter's Field Project which takes these songs into schools and colleges and discusses the history and literature of the First World War, has been busy this autumn and we've raised a handsome amount of money for the charities we support, namely the Poppy Appeal and the War Memorials Trust. The book to accompany the cd, featuring the short stories of Andy Wilson and the stunning photographs of Graham Rhodes, will be released in 2010 and available via a new website currently under construction in support of all things Potter's Field.

In the meantime you'll have to make do with the piddly amount of music EZFolk will allow us to broadcast these days.

Love and best wishes
Joe
NEW DEMOS AND EZFOLK CHANGES

NEW DEMOS AND EZFOLK CHANGES Hello again

Demos continue apace and there are now ten tracks recorded of the 40 or so I have in contention for my new album "Forwards Is Just Backwards In Reverse" due Feb 2010. There will be more, but the changes to ezfolk mean I shall have to return to www.myspace.com/joesolo as being my nerve centre. I will however, keep you all informed when new tracks are posted there.

Work also continues on the book to accompany my current album "Music From Potter's Field" which is being written by my good friend Andy Wilson and elaborates on the stories told within my songs bringing the characters to life. Can't wait for it to be finished as it's shaping up into a classic! There are five stories so far, and they are all on my blog at myspace.

I'm gigging and writing and recording pretty constantly at the moment as it keeps me out of trouble!

Keep up if you can
Love and best wishes

FOUR FREE NEW TRACKS

FOUR FREE NEW TRACKS Hello Again

If you've been keeping a close eye on my page over the last few days you'll have noticed a flurry of new demo tracks. I've made them all FREE downloads so feel free to fill your boots.

As I've worked on previous albums I've recorded my favourite 10 or 12 of the often 40 or 50 songs I have written and ready, and then just binned the rest with a shrug. After all, if they weren't good enough for THAT album, why would they suddenly become good enough for the next?

This time round however, I'm determined to record demo versions of as many as possible. I will then pick the best and re-record or remix and master them into my next album. This way you'll have an exclusive insight into where we are with it, and if you're on the ball, have a cartload of FREE Joe Solo songs too!

Can't go wrong.

Anyways, these four are:

1. Hill 70 (Harry's Song)
2. Newfoundland Pine
3. The Day I Shake The Blues
4. Autumn

Help yourselves

All the best
Joe
